Samsung to Release One UI Watch 4.5 with New and Enhanced Experience

Oh! that giddy feeling … when your favourite gadget gets an update is about to be triggered once more! Especially if you’re a member of the community for Samsung wearables. Samsung recently announced an upcoming release of One UI Watch 4.5, powered by their running OS 3.5, for the Galaxy Watch series. You can anticipate features like a fullscreen QWERTY Keyboard with swipe-to-type, Dual Sim support, customizable watch faces and some enhanced accessibility features.

  1. Full QWERTY Keyboard:

Samsung has added the option for users to type seamlessly using the full QWERTY Keyboard and the swipe-to-type capability, making communication easier. Also, you’ll be able to switch between using your keyboard to dictating, and back easily.

  1. Customizing Watch Faces:

With this release, you’ll be able to personalize your Galaxy watch faces with a variety of themes. This way, you can match your face to your outfits, if that is what you’re going for. Likewise, you can save every instance of your customization to your favourite list and reuse those themes as often as you wish.

  1. Enhanced Accessibility Features: To improve accessibility, Samsung prioritized: Visual, Auditory, and Touch Assistance. People with difficulties telling colours apart will be able to adjust the hues and contrast of their watch’s User Interface to suit their eyes sights. Moreover, you can reduce the transparency and blur effect or turn off animations on your Galaxy Watch.

No more issues with sound balance when connected to your Bluetooth headset if you’re hearing impaired. You can balance the sound of your Bluetooth headset by adjusting your watch’s left and right audio output. With touch support, the Tap duration feature allows you to prolong your screen-tapping interaction. To have better control over your interaction, you can disable repeated touch inputs with the Ignore repeated touches feature.

And just like your smartphone, all accessibility settings will be under the Accessibility menu, so you won’t have to trawl through several options.

  1. Dual Sim Support: People with Dual Sim phones will find this feature useful. Thanks to the Dual Sim support, you can retain or modify your phone’s settings when synced to your Galaxy watch. Let’s assume you have set your phone’s call setting to ‘Ask Always’. Should you decide to call via your watch, you can set Sim 1 or 2 as your preferred Sim for calls for your galaxy watch.

The South Korean company has announced they will release One UI Watch 4.5 in the third quarter of the year along with more features. While we eagerly wait for the new One UI Watch release, remember that the updates will be available for Galaxy Watch4, Galaxy Watch4 Classic, and other upcoming Galaxy Watch Series. However, these updates will vary depending on the market, model, and the paired smartphone.
